Selection Process:
- Preliminary Examination
- Main Examination
The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase I) will not be added for the selection and only the marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase II) will be taken into account for final selection. Candidate MUST obtain minimum qualifying marks in each Section separately and should also obtain minimum marks in the aggregate as decided by the Corporation to qualify in the examinations (Preliminary and Main).
Exam Pattern:
The Exam Pattern is as Follows
Phase-I: Preliminary Examination:
Preliminary Examination consisting of objective test will be conducted online. The test will have three sections (with separate timings for each section) as follows :

**English/Hindi Language test will be of qualifying nature and marks in Language section will not be counted for ranking. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by LIC (not more than 20 times the numbers of vacancies) will be shortlisted for the Main Examination. Shortlisting for main examination will be on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate in Section 2 and 3 above provided candidate obtain minimum qualifying marks in the Section 1 above i.e. English/Hindi Language.
There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests for main examination. ¼ marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Minimum Cut off Marks :-
LIC reserves the right to fix the minimum cut-off marks, section wise as well as on total in the online examination in order to finalize the number of candidates to be called for the Interview. The corrected scores obtained by each of the candidates in different sessions (if held) will be normalized using equi percentile method.
Phase-II : Main Examination:
Main examination will consist of objective tests for 200 marks. The objective test will be online. The objective test will have separate timing for every section.

The Exam Syllabus is as Follows
Preliminary Exam
Reasoning :- Every Candidate Need To Focus on Syllogism, Coding and de-coding, Inequalities, Seating Arrangements, Puzzles Blood Relation, Etc.
English Language :- Mainly Focus on the topics like Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Error, Sentence correction, fill in the blanks, Comprehension & Cloze Test etc Improvements Etc.
Hindi Language :- Vyakaran, Fill in the Blanks, Mistakes, Paragraphs, व्याकरण भाग (Grammar) – वर्तनी, वाक्य, नियमों के सेट सक्रिय निष्क्रिय आवाज, अप्रत्यक्ष प्रत्यक्ष भाषण, लेख, पूर्वसर्ग, वाक्यांशों और मुहावरों, वाक्य सुधार, खोलना त्रुटि प्रश्न, एक शब्द प्रतिस्थापन, रिक्त स्थान को भरना.शब्दावली (Vocabulary) पदबंधों , समानार्थी शब्द, विलोम, वाक्य पूरा , शब्द गठन.
Numerical Ability :- Questions will be asked from Simplification, Average, Percentage, Time & Work, Area, profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Time & Speed, Investment, HCF LCM, Problem On Ages , Bar Graph, Pictorial Graph, Pie Chart. Date Interpretation is the section which have to be focused. You don’t need to go deep in chapters just make your speed super fast and practice as much as you can.
Main Online Exam
English Language : Passage, Preposition, Correction of sentences, active passive voice, direct indirect sentences, Verbs/Tense/Non Finite, Punctuation, Substituting phrasal verbs for expression, Synonyms and Antonyms, Use of adjective, Compound preposition, Determiners, Use of pronouns.
Logical Reasoning : Questions will be asked from analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgement, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetic reasoning, verbal and figure, Non Verbal Reasoning.
General Awareness : Questions will be designed to test awareness knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries. Current affairs, Scientific achievements, National/ International Awards, Indian Languages, Books, Scripts, Capital, Currency, sports and important events. Indian History, Culture, Geography, Environment, Economic aspects, Freedom Movement, major features of Indian Agriculture & Natural Resources.
Numerical Ability : Questions will be asked from Simplification, Average, Percentage, Time & Work, Area, profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Time & Speed, Investment, HCF LCM, Problem On Ages , Bar Graph, Pictorial Graph, Pie Chart. Candidates need to be focus on Basics of Mathematics & Simplification.
Medical Examination
Selected candidate will have to undergo Medical Examination and will be appointed as Assistant/Associate/Assistant Manager subject to him/her being found medically fit by the Medical Examiner authorized by LIC HFL for this purpose.
Final Selection
The final merit list and selection of candidates will be separate post of Assistant will be done on the basis of combined marks of Main Examination strictly according to the merit ranking, subject to minimum qualifying marks in the Preliminary examination. The Company reserves the right to change the selection procedure, if necessary.
